Are We on the Brink of World War III?
In the televised meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Volodymyr Zelenskyy last week, Trump told the Ukraine president he was “gambling with World War III.”
That wasn’t the first time we’ve heard WW3 mentioned recently. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his parliament officials have threatened it.
Trade tensions between China and the U.S. over tariffs have become more heated. A Chinese official said last week that China was “ready for war” with America.
Being called an “Axis of Upheaval,” Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea have cozied up to each other. They’ve coordinated economic, military, and diplomatic efforts.
The U.S. is their common enemy. And one of their chief goals is to counter Western influence.
The Second Biggest Fear
Is this just talk, or are there real signs that the world could be heading toward disaster?
Either way, people around the globe are getting nervous about it. We asked 4Patriots Facebook followers recently what their largest concerns are.
A third world war was listed as the second biggest fear. The first concern being the increasing political division in our country.
In a recent poll, more than one-half of Britons said they believe another world war is likely within the next five to 10 years.
Higher Tariffs Spark War Talk
Diplomatic efforts have not gone well in a variety of places around the world lately.
Experts warn about the possibility of a large-scale war. They’ve emphasized the need for nations to bolster their defense capabilities. And prepare for potential conflicts.
Tariffs are currently the big issue in U.S.-China relations. Citing trade imbalances, Trump has raised tariffs to 20% on Chinese imports.
China responded with tariffs on American agricultural products. And declared its readiness for war with America.
U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated the U.S. is prepared for a potential military engagement with China.
“If war is what the U.S. wants, be it a tariff war, a trade war or any other type of war, we’re ready to fight till the end,”

Plans Are in the Making
Posturing between Russian and American officials has been going on for years now.
It seems that whenever NATO welcomes a new member, Russia starts beating the war drums.
Recently, senior Russian parliamentarian Aleksey Zhuravlyov spoke of the need for Russians to prepare for a possible World War III within three years. And advocated for a confrontational stance against Western nations.
Secret German documents have revealed a response to that threat. There are plans to mobilize 800,000 NATO troops to counter potential Russian aggression.
Axis of Upheaval Getting Cozier
“Axis of Upheaval” is a recent term. It was coined by Center for a New America Security foreign policy analysts. You may recall that President George W. Bush referred to Iran, Iraq, and North Korea as an “axis of evil” in his 2002 State of the Union address.
Axis of Upheaval refers to what is so far a loose alliance between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea. But it’s an alliance that has been getting tighter.
Their goal is to “dismantle the global order,” according to Halifax International Security Forum President Peter Van Praagh.
This alliance has strengthened since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Sanctions against Russia imposed by the U.S. and European countries convinced Putin he needed to improve ties with other anti-American nations.
Trump & Zelenskyy Clash in Meeting
Returning to Trump’s meeting with Zelenskyy for a moment, the session was supposed to be about the two leaders signing a minerals deal.
But Trump told Zelenskyy he would need to make a peace deal with Russia. Zelenskyy said the only deal he would accept is Russian troops leaving his country immediately.
Trump then told Zelenskyy that he had not expressed enough gratitude for U.S. military and political support. And that he was gambling with a world war by not being willing to negotiate.
The argument escalated, followed by Zelenskyy’s departure from the White House. Trump and Zelenskyy have since had more subdued conversations.
Preparedness Is the Key
Every world leader understands that the consequences of a third world war would be catastrophic for everyone involved.
Even the “winners” would be negatively affected to a great degree. And the “losers” to a much greater extent.
What can the average American citizen do? The answer is very similar to how we should handle any other potential crisis.
And that’s to be as prepared as possible. Including having a bug-out bag filled and ready to grab. We can help!
Tried. Tested. True.
