Giving Tuesday Shines Spotlight on Charities

Tomorrow, December 1, is Giving Tuesday. It's a generosity movement designed to transform communities around the world.

Giving Tuesday was launched in 2012 as a day that encourages people to do good for others. Now, hundreds of millions of people are giving, collaborating and celebrating generosity.

Some people help neighbors or charitable organizations with financial donations. Others donate products or their time.

In 2019, nearly $2 billion was donated, thanks to matching donations. Among the organizations that contribute are Google, Facebook and Microsoft.

The Right Thing to Do

From time to time, we at 4Patriots like to let you know about some of the charities we support.

Many of them benefit U.S. veterans and active-duty troops. As well as their families. Included are Fisher House Foundation and Operation Homefront. Plus For the Troops, A Soldier's Child and Team Rubicon.

I think you know us well enough by now to realize this. We don't tell you about these donations to pat ourselves on the back. We donate because it's the right thing to do. We've been blessed and we want to bless others in need.

As to why we periodically keep you informed about these donations, let me mention a few of the reasons. Then I'll tell you about some of our other donation recipients you may not be aware of.

Why We Donate

We tell you about our donations because you should know the type of company you're dealing with. We believe it's important to give back to worthy organizations. We're grateful to be in a position to do that.

Two, we want you to know where some of your dollars are going. In addition to supporting U.S. military members and their families, we help others in need.

Three, we want you to know that we couldn't do it without you. Your purchases of our products make these donations possible. You are our partners in this effort.

Four, we want to make you aware of who these organizations are, what they do and what their needs are. You may decide to partner directly with one or more of them.

In no particular order, here are four organizations to which we've made recent donations.

Bigun's Hope

Jason (also known as Bigun) and Hope Lis devote significant amounts of time to aid disaster victims. Mainly in the Southeast through Bigun's Hope.

"We provide a coordinated effort, including the necessary personnel and equipment, to locate, rescue and provide immediate medical treatment to victims as a result of a natural or manmade disaster," Jason said.

Bigun's Hope has responded to many disasters. Including recent Hurricanes Sally and Laura, and tornadoes in Alabama. They've also transported supplies. Including 600,000 pounds of food in response to COVID-19.

Recently, 4Patriots donated 100 of its 72-Hour Survival Food Kits to Bigun's Hope. And one Patriot Power Generator 1800.

Feed Our Veterans

More than 130,000 veterans are homeless every night. One in three homeless people is a U.S. military veteran. Nearly 4 million vets and their families don't have enough to eat.

Those statistics are among the reasons U.S. Navy veteran Rich Synek and his wife, Michelle, launched Feed Our Vets. They've provided free food assistance to more than 27,500 veterans. As well as their family members in 39 states.

They've distributed nearly 2 million pounds of food and more than $150,000 in gift cards for stores such as WalMart. And helped another 7,500 vets with non-food assistance, including housing.

"Our nation's military vets have served and sacrificed for our freedom," Rich said. "We believe it is our duty to give back to these men and women who have given so much for our country."

4Patriots recently donated 60 of our 72-Hour Survival Food Kits to Feed Our Vets.

Disabled American Veterans

Mike Zylstra is the commander of the Chico, California chapter of Disabled American Veterans. Jessie Neff is the commander of the Chico chapter of the American Legion.

Together these disabled vets help the 3,000 veterans in Butte County get the treatments they need at the Veterans Administration hospital in Sacramento.

In 2018, they also spent countless hours assisting victims of the devastating Camp Fire. It destroyed Paradise, California. Recently they've been working around the clock to help those displaced by the Bear Fire. It killed at least 15 people.

In 2019, 4Patriots donated 55 pallets of Survival Food after the Camp Fire. This year, 4Patriots donated some 800 servings of Survival Food and two air purifiers. That was in response to Mike's and Jessie's relief efforts connected to the Bear Fire.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee is an after-school program. It gives young people constructive ways to spend those hours. Based in Nashville, it includes 11 Clubs in Davidson and Williamson counties. And serves some 4,700 young people.

Among the many programs offered are Project Learn. It includes homework help, tutoring, reading and writing. Plus discussions with knowledgeable adults and games that help develop their cognitive skills.

Others are Healthy Habits, including physical activities and nutrition information. And Youth of the Year, featuring community service and public speaking training.

As well as Notes for Notes. It provides kids with free access to musical instruments and recording studio environments.

4Patriots donated several items to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee for their 2020 fundraising gala. They included Patriot Power Cells and HaloXT flashlights.

Donate a Meal to a U.S. Veteran

Not everyone can donate as much money or time as they would like to, due to various circumstances - especially this year.

But here's a way for you to donate one meal to a U.S. veteran – without spending a dime.

All you have to do is sign up for our Text Club* and we will make that meal donation on your behalf.

Plus, you'll get Early Bird Access to our holiday events, exclusive giveaways only available to Text Club insiders, AND you'll get alerts when our best-sellers are restocked.

Now that's what we call a win-win!

Thank you all for your service and your amazing products! We got our first from you today, the device recharger, and we will order more.

I have gifted my entire self-study career/life coaching program to the troops and their families to ease the process of re-entry into civilian life. It has over 40 years of proven results behind it with thousands of people of all ages and circumstances, including our precious troops. The low-end retail value is $3,000. TroopsInTransition.Com is the place to head to for this excellent gift.

I Love 4 Patriots I order 2 tubs of food one for my parents who are in another state where the conditions are not good. Being a Miltary brat I ordered this and shipped it to my dad and mother.
With all the fires, and other conditions that are going on I wanted peace of mind that my parents would be taken care of.I order several other items for them. They were so appreciative. My dad also served in the Airforce. I ordered another for my son in law who served in the Marine’s and gave it to him and my daughter for taking out to hunt with in there cabin. The food is really good! BUT> 4 Patriots serve is AWESOME! thank you for also giving back. Thank you, Victoria Crowl
