We start with municipal water and run it through eight stages of purification:
STEP 1: Sand Filtration. A method used for community water for nearly 200 years, the CDC studies show most sand filters reduce 99.98% of protozoa and 90-99% bacteria.
STEP 2: Charcoal Filtration. Charcoal is both natural and effective at removing toxins from your water, like volatile organic compounds and chlorine… without stripping the water of the “good stuff” like minerals and ions that are healthy for our bodies (and removes odors, too!).
STEP 3 & 4: Reverse Osmosis. One of the most popular and best water filtration methods available… so we do it TWICE! Your water is forced across a semipermeable membrane, leaving the contaminants in lockdown while the superior, great-tasting water filters through.
STEP 5: Five-Micron Filter. In this step, we use a 5-micron filter to trap microscopic particles from entering your clean drinking water. According to the CDC, microfiltration is highly effective in removing protozoa like cryptosporidium, giardia, etc.
STEP 6: 0.3 Micron Filter. If you thought 5 microns were small, we got even smaller in our second round of microfiltration. Meaning, the pore size of the filter got smaller… and our water security just got higher. Blocking even smaller bacteria from entering the clean drinking water trough.
STEP 7: Ultraviolet Sterilization. Ultraviolet rays… you know the ones from the sun… are known to be an effective disinfectant for water. Why? Because its strong “germicidal” abilities -- aka it fights bacteria and viruses that other filtration systems can miss.
STEP 8: Ozone Sterilization. For the final step, we use the oxidizing properties of ozone to reduce the concentration of iron, manganese and sulfur in your water. Eliminating both taste and odor issues once and for all.
